Birthdays

So I got the chance to visit my favorites in South Carolina, and got to be part of the birthday celebrations of two very special kiddos.

On Friday, this cutie patootie turned 6 months old!!

And on Sunday, this special boy turned 3 years old!!

Maddie was helping us set up for Quinn's party on Saturday, but we worked her too hard and she needed a break.

When she finally woke up, she was ready to party!

This handsome fellow was trying SO hard to be patient as he waited for all of his friends to arrive.

Hmm....are they ever going to get here?

Finally, Q's friend Sarah showed up, and Q took her for a ride.

When Christian arrived, he got chauffered around a little also.

Grandma was there to help celebrate!

Quinn is so excited that everyone sings "Happy Dirt-day" to him.

Q's favorite: Lightning McQueen

And since Uncle Wade couldn't come to his party, Quinn wanted to make sure he showed him his motorcycle riding skills. "Look Uncle Wade....no hands!!"

I'm so blessed to get to be "Auntie Trish" these two special kiddos. They fill my heart with so much joy!

My Two Favorite Littles

This weekend we got to go visit my sister and her family for a very quick trip. No matter how quick and how short these visits are, they are precious to me and I truly treasure this time spent with them. Quinn is getting so big...

....and Maddie is not. She is a little skinny-minny and just as pretty as can be.

We had so much fun together! I'll post more later on all the fun we had, complete with a "dirt-day party"!

Wade's Birthday Weekend Recap

Posted by Picasa

We had a wonderful weekend down at St. George Island. The weather cooperated beautifully, but the fishing left much to be desired. I think we only came home with 8 keepers. We did, however, hook EVERY. SINGLE. STINKIN'. catfish is the entire Gulf of Mexico, as well as the Apalachicola Bay. We relaxed, fished, walked, ate, read (me, definitely NOT Wade), took lots of pictures (again, me, not Wade), and relaxed some more. Wade found well over 100 whole sand dollars, more than we've ever seen before. It's too bad we can't pay the bills with them! Our bed was awful so we didn't sleep very well. The peacocks at the "resort" seemed to enjoy being on the roof over our room, and it seems to be mating season for them. Despite all the little "flaws", it was so nice to get away for the weekend and just be together. Overall, I think Wade would consider his birthday weekend a SUCCESS. Until next year...

Weekend in Review

My mom's birthday was this past Friday, and back a couple of months ago, she told me she wanted to go to Disney World. (Yes, she is grown...55 years old, as a matter of fact.) My wonderful husband gave me permission to go, so Mom & I decided to make a weekend of it. We got a SWEET room for $39 a night, thanks to my bro-in-law J.

Friday, we stood in line for 40 minutes to ride Dumbo. I'm dead serious. That's what she wanted. That's what we did. Yes, I'm still talking about my 55 year old mother. We also rode Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and of course, the thrilling Indy Cars. Talk about exciting!! Now, I've always been a big fan of the Magic Kingdom, but I have to admit that this past weekend pretty much took care of me & MK for a while. I was ready to go by 7 p.m. and we left at 11. I know, I know...what a party pooper. Mom got her way...we stayed until it was ALL over!

The next morning we ventured to SeaWorld's new water park, Aquatica. Wow. SO. MANY. PEOPLE. It was insane. The park was pretty cool. Way better than Wet n' Wild. But did I mention that there was a lot of people there? Didn't ride all the rides, but the Lazy River & Wave Pool definitely got my vote. And the little dolphins that look like Shamu are pretty cool. Well done, SeaWorld. Other than being way too crowded and all.

Saturday night, we decided to go out for a nice dinner. I've heard about this place before but never been, so we decided to go for it. A. MA. ZING. Texas de Brazil is my new favorite, and the nice thing about it, you don't have to eat again for a week! Totally worth the money.
And look what else God gave Mom for her birthday.

So, I think Mom had a great birthday weekend, and I had a pretty good time myself, and it wasn't even my birthday!
